First Alert Z-Wave Smoke /CO Combo

Follow these steps to pair the First Alert Z-Wave Smoke and CO combination unit with your abode system.  

According to First Alert, you only have 30 seconds (from step #4 below) to pair the sensor once the battery is inserted and the tray is pushed in, so please read the directions and be prepared to move through the steps as swiftly as possible.

First Alert Pairing Process:
  1. Go to the abode web app (https://my.goabode.com)
  2. On the main screen of the dashboard select from the top of the page the "+ add " button
  3. In the Add Devices Dialog, select the Other Devices Tab at the top of this page
  4. Insert the Battery into the smoke detector and then press and hold the Test Button for 5 Seconds while you slide the battery tray into the unit.
  5. In a couple of seconds, you should see the Smoke Detector show up in the Add Devices Dialog.
  6. Click Add and then follow the Wizard to complete.
  7. IMPORTANT: As soon as you name the device and hear the gateway beep to confirm the device is added, press the button on one time on the First alert to confirm the addition.
  8. Close the dialog.
That's it. At this point, your First Alert Smoke / CO Combo should be integrated with abode.

Troubleshooting:
If you were not able to pair your First Alert during the First Alert Pairing Process, you will need to exclude the device and then go through the pairing process again.

To Exclude the Device:
  1. Remove the batteries from the First Alert Unit
  2. Go to the abode web app (https://my.goabode.com)
  3. In the Devices section, click the "+"
  4. In the Add Devices Dialog, select the Other Devices Tab
  5. Click "Z-Wave Exclusion Tool"
  6. When the Z-Wave Exclusion dialog shows up, continue below.
  7. Insert the Battery into the smoke detector and then press and hold the Test Button for 5 Seconds while you slide the battery tray into the unit.
  8. In a couple of seconds, you should see the Smoke Detector show up the "Excluded Z-Wave Devices" table of Step 3.
  9. Click Close
  10. Remove the battery from the First Alert Unit
  11. Follow steps 4-8 of the First Alert Pairing Process above.
