What's included in the Abode Security Kit?
The Abode Security Kit includes a Hub, a Mini Door/Window Sensor, a Key Fob, an Abode window sticker, and all the cables and accessories needed for setup.


What do I need to set up my security system?
For initial setup, you will need an Apple mobile device (iPhone or iPad) or an Android device (phone or tablet), an AC power outlet, and a spare Ethernet port on your internet router.


Is the Abode Hub HomeKit Compatible?
The Abode Hub will not be HomeKit compatible. For HomeKit compatibility please look at the Smart Security Kit or Iota Kit.


Can I use other devices with the Abode Hub?
The Abode Hub does not have Z-Wave or Zigbee support, so these devices are unable to connect to the Hub. AbodeRF security device and devices that work with Abode through our 3rd party integrations will work.


Does the Abode Hub have cell backup?
The Abode Hub does have cell back with when used with a corresponding service plan.


I am having trouble removing the power cable from the Abode Hub
The Abode Hub power cable has a very secure fit in the back of the Hub, and also has a locking mechanism to ensure the cable does not come out by accident. To remove the cable, ensure the 'fins' on the plug are in a horizontal position (not the vertical locked position). Removal will still be firm and may require some side to side wiggling while pulling.


If upgrading my Hub, how do I swap to my new Hub?
Swapping your Hub is easy. We just need a little info from you:

  • The MAC address of your existing Hub

  • The MAC address of your new Hub

The MAC address is located on the bottom of the device and begins with “B0:C5:CA....”

When we receive this info, we will transfer your user profile over to the new Hub. Our aim is to backup your existing Abode devices and restore them into the new Hub, but please note this is not always possible.

Note: Your new Hub MUST be online to make the swap. Verify that you have an Ethernet cable connected from your hub to your router. Your old Hub does not have to be online. However, if you are aiming to have your devices transferred over the old Hub does need to be online. Please email this information to support@goabode.com and we will take care of this as soon as possible.


How do I customize the hub sounds (siren, door chime, entry delay, etc.)?

  1. In the Abode App on your iOS or Android device, select the Menu (≡).

  2. Tap "System Settings".

  3. Tap "Sound Settings".

  4. Your Hub sound settings can be managed here. Enable "Mute All Sounds" at the top as a quick way to disable all Hub sounds.


How do I customize the alarm modes (Home, Away, Standby)?
You can determine which devices are active in each mode. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. In the Abode App on your iOS or Android device, select the Devices option from the bottom menu.

  2. Tap the device you would like to edit to open the device settings. For cameras, tap the gear icon to open camera settings.

  3. Tailor when your device is active in each mode under the "Choose When Sensor is Active" section.

  4. Tap "Done" once finished.


How do I adjust the siren sound duration?

  1. In the Abode App on your iOS or Android device, select the Menu (≡).

  2. Tap "System Settings".

  3. Tap "Sound Settings".

  4. Your Hub sound settings can be managed here. Tap "Alarm Duration" and adjust to your desired length.


What devices are compatible with the Security Hub?
All Abode security devices and sensors (door sensors, motion sensors, glass sensors, etc.) are compatible with the Abode Hub.

The Abode Hub does not support Z-Wave or Zigbee devices

The Abode Hub will allow you to integrate with the current available 3rd party integrations, such as Alexa, Google Nest, Google Home, SONOS and BOSE.


I'm moving. How do I update my account with my new address?
If you are moving out of your home and intend on leaving the existing Abode security system for the new users or would like to change the hub's ownership please fill out this form completely with all of the information requested and we will get back to you with a confirmation of your request.

If you are moving into a home that has an existing Abode system simply fill out this form with all of the information requested and we will get back to you with instructions to activate your system.


How do I add additional devices to my system?
The devices included in the Abode Security Kit are already paired to your Hub. To pair additional devices follow these steps:

  1. In the Abode App on your iOS or Android device, select the Menu (≡).

  2. Tap "Add Device".

  3. Select the proper category, then tap the device you would like to add.

  4. Follow the in-app prompts to pair the device to your hub.
